Oxblood Molly kicked off proceedingsm followed by massed dancing by the Cotswold and North-West sides. Then it was the turn of the Border sides who gave a very effective display of the fact that not two sides dance White Ladies Aston the same way, or even for the same length of time. Pretty Grim and Green Dragon joined forces as neither side had enough for a full set of eight dancers.
After the massed dance all the sides split up to dance at various locations around the town. For my money the best spots were the Triple Plea, for its friendly landlord and excellent beer, and the White Swan, for its customers who came outside to watch us dance. Highlights of the day were the debut performances from Rosie, Poppy and Sheila, who hasn't even been learning our dances but has just watched while we have been practising!
At the end of the day all the sides joined together to watch everyone's show dances. Once again we joined forces with Green Dragon to dance Salmon Slapping, which they had learned from us at FolkEast a couple of years ago. As Stuart and Vicki were in their Oxblood kit we christened ourselves Pretty Dragon Blood for the day.
