Festivals we like to dance at
FolkEast is our local festival, taking place just a couple of miles from our practice venue. We have performed at it every year since it began and hope to continue this tradition as long as possible.
We have been regulars at the Straw Bear for as long as I can remember. It is usually cold, rarely
wet and always good fun.
wet and always good fun.
Morris sides we like to dance with
Golden Star are our FolkEast buddies. The first year that the festival was at Blaxhall we spent most of the weekend together and have got along with them very well ever since.
A local side that we dance with fairly often. They introduced us to the WHite Horse at Sweffling where we always get a good audience and are well fed and watered.
The Gongs are lots of fun. They put up with us despite Justine regularly drumming amuck whenever she can.
It has been far too long since we last shared a dance spot with Dead Horse but we always used to get along well with them.
Pubs we like to dance at
The Blaxhall Ship is our local. We go there for after practice drinks every week and dance out there at least a couple of times a year.
The White Horse is usually only open at the weekend but they have been known to open mid-week just so that we can dance. There is always a good audience and the landlords look after us with delicious food and drink.
Bands we like to dance to
Our very own Harry has been Sound Hound for some time and now Al has joined them too with his box. They very kindly asked them to do some pre-show entertainment for their CD launch a couple of years ago.
Mrs Squire always loves to bop to Bellowhead so I have to include them here.
To be fair the Broadside Boys are so much of a dance band. They are great lads though, always lots of fun to share a pint or three with.
