Rochester saw the unveiling of our new tatters, which got a very good response. Members of sides which have known us for several years said that they liked the new look; and several people who had had reservations about the tatters said that they were impressed when they saw them.
Another first was our debut at the awakening of the Jack in the Green. A few of us had been to watch before but for me it was the first time that I had woken at 4.30 on a festival Sunday. Luckily the weather was kind to us, although it was cold waiting for our turn. Eventually we did a decent rendition of Echoes, which Motley (who wrote the dance) said was good.
This year we danced for most of Sunday instead of finishing at midday as we have usually done. Our final spot was with Sheffield City Morris who we had also danced with on Saturday afternoon. This year was the first time we had met and they said that they really liked our dancing, music and overall performance.
